This show attempts to explore some aspects of popular song through the medium of puppetry.

ALL OF YOU (words & music Cole Porter) and "ONCE IN LOVE WITH AMY" (words & music Frank Loesser). Puppet made by Mel Myland at The Puppet Workshop. A puppeteer sings a love song to a table-top puppet. How weird can you get?

THE THREE LITTLE PIGS (written by Peter Charlton, based on the song "Let the good times roll" (words and music: Sam Theard & Jordan Fleece Moore). Accompaniment arranged and played by Mark Reader with 'trumpet' solos by Fred Harris, puppets made by Mel Myland at The Puppet Workshop The three little pigs are a blues band, the Big Bad Wolf is a tone-deaf trumpet player who insists on 'sitting in' with them and blowing his big, bad horn! I PUT A SPELL ON YOU (words & music by 'Screaming' Jay Hawkins, accompaniment arranged & played by Mark Reader, puppets by Ken Barnard, setting made by Stuart SIade). A princess has been turned into a frog by a wicked wizard (who else?) and the wizard decides it is time for him to have his wicked way, so he casts a spell and the frog turns into . ..well, not quite what the wizard expected! SHAKIN' ALL OVER/TAINT NO SIN TO TAKE OFF YOUR SKIN & DANCE AROUND IN YOUR BONES ( words and music: Fred Heath. Accompaniment arranged & played by Mark Reader) Both songs are available for the late 'Mr. Dai Bones' to emerge from his tomb and shake his stuff! Marionette.
SAVE THE BONES FOR HENRY JONES (words & music: Danny Barker & Vernon Lee, accompaniment arranged & played by Bill Le Sage, puppets made by Ken Barnard). Two dogs attempt to keep the top dog hungry! Glove puppets.
YOU BETTER FACE IT BOY (words Clive James, music Pete Atkin, puppet made by Muriel Shutt) A clown has come to the end of his career. But is this the puppeteer singing to the puppet or the puppet singing to the puppeteer? This song ends the show. Marionette.
"SONGS FOR SWINGING PUPPETS" can be an hour long show with an interval or a shorter presentation made up from the above songs.
